What has happened during last weeks is that the world has accepted to be online. Even elderly generations have realized the power of information and disinformation available in the net. Before all this happened they were not necessarily interested about it at all.
You really have to be remotely located now to avoid the global overdose of daily news. We have been confined for 21 days now in France and there is still at least 9 days to go. I do not know how this huge information flow is looking for the people working onboard?
It must be weird mix of feelings being free and worried at the same time. But for sure, it is challenging time to receive help or specialist, in case of problems occur. Please, everybody, knock on wood! I wish all the best to everybody working onboard these days.
In BMS, we started the work towards remote support through webshop for a while ago. I think it is almost a year already, that we have been planning and preparing content for the material and designed services.
We thought, this would be needed from the availability and price perspective, but also to make environmental and efficiency factors easier available. We had no idea, that it may also be the tomorrows world, where all contacts and travel may be avoided.
The idea is to provide or advise available specialist to improve the ship deliveries around the world. With our help you tackle the challenges related to basic roles, but especially to efficiency and reliability in remote efficient manner.
My passion is to create emission savings. On this topic, ongoing crisis is improving the stress. My concern of outcome is reliability support for old equipment. These may be utilized for longer periods than was foreseen before the crisis. From this perspective I was thinking, what would be the most common challenge, that ships around the world are having?
Naturally, it has to be a technical challenge and somehow related to me, so “a-girl-in-every-port kind of problems” are not counted. We do not heal those.
